Dinner it is.
Specifically, dinner at Clement and The Bar at Clement, a couple airy new companion spots at the Peninsula. They’re open now. Herewith, three ways to deploy them...
1. Execute the perfect power meal while overlooking 5th Ave.
There are three large rooms of white-tableclothed classicism here. One’s filled with mirrors, one’s got fake books sticking out of the walls, and one’s adorned with a relief of Central Park. Feel it out. See which is right for you.
2. Take advantage of one of the sexiest seats in town.
At the low-lit bar, there’s a corner nook. And in that nook, a secluded banquette. And that banquette... pulls right up to the bar. You know what to do. And it involves ordering some Sassafras Cobblers (a rye-and-pickled-blueberry deal in a sassafras-leaf-lined glass).
3. Dinner for 12.
Let’s say relatives will visit in the coming months. Let’s say their happiness can be won with helpings of Elysian Fields lamb. Behind an inconspicuous sliding door in one of the main dining rooms is a single-table private dining room for about a dozen where you’ll handle that.
Booking for Festivus as we speak.
