Yet something is terribly, terribly wrong.
Well, it looks like you’re the only one with the guts to say it: no ice cream sundaes. None.
Your outspokenness has been rewarded: welcome to The Dec Rooftop Lounge + Bar, a glamorous terrace jutting out from the 12th floor of the Ritz-Carlton hotel, opening as early as this weekend, weather permitting.
This place takes advantage of a tragically underused outdoor area next to Deca. You’re so close to the John Hancock, you can almost touch it. If you bring binoculars, you can scope out the scene on Drumbar’s patio. But pay attention to what’s going on here.
There is an LED light show at the bar. There are fire pits. Lush garden landscaping is involved. Also involved: oysters on the half shell and ham-flecked pull-apart bread.
But after spending your early evenings regaling bosses, clients and curious onlookers with your tales, and buying them house-bottled cocktails (they’ll love the River Water, made with whiskey and Malört), now you deserve a treat.
So hit the sundae cart and get intimately acquainted with ice cream goodies like a salted-pretzel-and-milk-chocolate ice cream push-up or a strawberry balsamic sundae.
But, no, you can’t ride it home.
