Strange Brew

A Trailer. Full of Beer. And Other Things...

The Giants are going strong. The sun’s out. Summer is full-on... at least for today.

What you need: beer. Where you need it: outside. When you need it: stat.

Where you’ll go: StrEat Brew, the city’s first trailer turned bar, opening tonight in the SoMa StrEat Food Park.

Four wheels. Seven taps. Those are the key stats here. But just to be clear, this thing is stationary, so it’s not quite the beer equivalent of Good Humor. (Side note: the beer equivalent of Good Humor. Someone get on that.)

Instead, think of this as the beery anchor around which all the other food trucks will orbit—making the whole park a sort of beer garden. Grab a table and get to work. Your options run the gamut: pitchers of Racer 5 IPA or Anchor Steam; cans of 21st Amendment’s IPA; wine and sangria. (The apple/plum number’s strong to very strong.)

When the weather inevitably changes, go for a picnic table under the roof, where you’ll also find a few flat-screens and a projector screen.

We hear football looks pretty good on those.
