Stationary Biking Around the World in SoMa

You and Lance Armstrong have a lot in common.

Living strong. Appreciation of the color yellow. Sponsorship by RadioShack.

Also, you’re both fully capable of tackling the Tour de France...

Welcome OMpower, a new studio where you can basically run down the world’s most challenging biking races from the comfort of South Beach, now open.

On the surface, this is just a big room where you’re riding a stationary bike to nowhere with an instructor barking at you. But thanks to the magic of Hollywood (which unfortunately does not include ScarJo riding next to you), it’ll have the look and feel of riding through the scenic vistas of Le Tour.

Basically, you’ll clip into one of the 25 Livestrong bikes situated in front of a 160-inch screen. As you start pedaling, you’ll be sucked into the high-definition, forward-motion video of trails and cities. And it’ll even mimic the occasional bumps from the road they hit during filming.

Right now, you have access to footage ranging from trails in the Tetons to a stretch of Highway 1 to various Tour de France road stages.

Or you could just, you know, bike on Highway 1.
