The Presidio’s New Luxe Lodgings

None 6 Photos Inn at the Presidio
We’re about to point out something obvious:

The Golden Gate Bridge is no hidden gem.

But knowing an unexpected spot for proper bridge viewing—now that can get you places in life.

Especially when said spot is a plush, down-filled, king-sized bed...

Behold: Inn at the Presidio, your one-and-only luxury bed-and-breakfast option in the entire former Army base that is the Presidio, taking reservations now for stays starting April 1 and beyond.

Of course, there’s more to the Presidio and this historic little hideaway than spectacular views of the Golden Gate, but they certainly don’t hurt. And they’ll be something to keep in mind for leisurely watching the America’s Cup.

Originally built in 1903 as the bachelor officer quarters, this spot formerly known as Pershing Hall maintains an air of understated military charm that’s now spruced up with rocking-chair-adorned verandas, an outdoor patio with custom fire pit and lots of wine.

Given that each room was an officer’s quarters—and that 17 of the 22 rooms are now fireplace-equipped suites—you can expect to be able to spread out nicely. But allow us to recommend room 322 for said America’s Cup bed-viewing. Or opt for 332 for sweeping bridge-and-bay views.

Once you’ve settled in, grab a bottle of bubbly and secure seats by the fire pit. Then, when the dust settles, expect to be able to order delivery from nearby restaurants.

Nothing like fried chicken and bubbly in bed.
