Things to do for March 25, 2011
Game-Time Snacks, Bourbon and Hunting for Beer
The weekend has its own Cinderella story.
Game-Time Specials at Ris
VCU and Richmond in the Sweet 16. That’s different. So is the idea of getting mussels with chorizo, octopus salad and bite-size meatloaf for $6.30 each. You’ll also get specials on wine, sangria and draft beer. Otherwise known as the number one seed of relaxation.
A Scavenger Hunt at Beer Bars
Even if you’ve never been much for group projects, you may want to sign on to this one: you and three friends have two nights to scour 10 beer-friendly bars. Your charge: order the right beers off each bar’s list, based on clues you receive. Oh, and then drink them.
Multiple Mimosas at Local 16
After a night or two of chasing down beers, a morning restorative could be in order. Like unlimited $3 mimosas, backed with eggs and chorizo baked in the wood-burning oven, steak and eggs, and the Lox Scramble Pizza. We suggest one mimosa per slice.
Things originating in Kentucky: Rex Chapman. That trifecta you hit. And this Wednesday night in April, which will feature a Lexington chef preparing five courses like Grilled Rosemary Shrimp and Cherrywood Smoked Quail with bourbon pairings. Ask for a seat next to Mitch McConnell.
DMV Nude Returns to Georgetown
The folks from the DMV Film Festival are back with another art gallery cocktail party full of adult beverages and other adult pursuits, like live body painting and erotic photography. And this time, they’ll have the photographer’s work on hand for purchase. Like buying a pennant at the ballpark, but different.
