A Beachside Cocktail Den in Sunny Isles

Just the other day, you were pondering a fundamental problem: the lack of a decent cocktail lounge on that swanky stretch of ocean in Sunny Isles.

You know, a place that’s cool enough for South Beach but convenient enough for your Aventura friends. With—while you’re pondering—spectacular ocean views.

Lo and behold, your new weekend launchpad: Alba Lounge, a sleek beachfront cocktail den now open on the northern stretch of A1A.

First off, we know what you’re wondering, and no, this isn’t connected to the esteemed actress of the same name. (Though it does evoke her sultry splendor.)

Start by making your way to the fourth floor of Solé on the Ocean. There, amidst floor-to-ceiling windows, you’ll find a place that looks a bit like Tony Montana’s private clubhouse—plump white leather couches, a mod bar with white stools and stone Buddha sculptures (Tony’s a very Zen drug lord). In other words, perfect for a third date, some sunset cocktails before heading to neighboring Il Mulino for dinner, or saying hello to your little friends.

Two other things you should know: one, the lounge is only open on the weekends and for the occasional Thursday night soiree. Second, there’s a spacious terrace with nearly panoramic views of the beach and the surrounding skyscrapers.

You do your best thinking on a spacious terrace.
