If you're into luxury, this is quite possibly the set of Perks you've been waiting around in your high-back leather armchair for. We've got you a special package at Wynn Las Vegas, 20% off cases of wine at Crush, plus exclusives at Berluti, Truman's and Legally Blonde.
Things to do for September 13, 2007
The Weekend Starts Here
Every weekend feels like a new year to us.
Earnest Sewn Opens on the Lower East Side
Denim artisans Earnest Sewn open a new LES store in the former Tenement Museum. The store comes on the heels of two new lines from this spring, so they shouldn't be short of new styles. And in case you don't feel like venturing out, we've got you a Perk.
This year's festival features four bands, 58 breweries and more than 300 different styles of Craft beer, including six we're pretty sure your college roommate invented. Proceeds benefit the New York Brewers Association, and not a penny goes to the Germans.
New Menu at Socialista
If you're already tired of the food at the recently opened downstairs peasant café at Socialista, good news: There's a new head chef and a new menu, meaning your Mojitos can now be paired with empanadas with duck legs braised in red wine and hoisin sauce.
Tickets drop Saturday at noon for next month's New Yorker Festival, the annual thinking-person's party. This year there'll be appearances by Salman Rushdie, Judd Apatow and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. (We hear Salman's a big "Legs" fan.)
Paradou's Dirty Bingo
The infamous dirty bingo night returns this Tuesday, with kinky prizes distributed by Kiki De Montparnasse, manufacturers of the notorious "fun wand," which has helped many a couple exclaim "bingo" over the years.
