Some missions involve Tom Cruise and self-destructing recordings.
Others involve making better coffee.
This is the latter, wherein a helpful company's stated mission is to make professional-level coffee accessible to everyone, no matter where they are.
That company is iKoffy, and their latest innovation is the GoBrew, which they claim is the world's first four-in-one portable smart coffee maker. They're taking pre-orders on Kickstarter now and hope to begin shipping products next month.
To kick off the project, the company collaborated with coffee experts, who provided feedback throughout development. After 18 months and more than 100 prototypes, GoBrew was born.
It combines a coffee scale, coffee mug, portable thermos and a brew guide app in one sleek, compact device that can be employed at home, the office, outdoors or anywhere else you like to drink good coffee.
The smart features include integration with a mobile app that provides users with precise guidance on coffee-to-water ratios and brewing techniques. Built-in sensors ensure accuracy and control during the process, so you can brew with the confidence of a seasoned barista, even if your skill level begins and ends with pushing Nespresso buttons.
There are different guides and modes on the app, so you can assert more control or give yourself over to the recommended settings. Either way, it's easy for both novices and experienced coffee makers to brew their ideal cup.
The GoBrew's waterproof design means it's easy to clean. The internal battery can withstand one month of daily use before needing a charge. And the double-wall insulation keeps coffee hot or iced for up to five hours.
Which is plenty of time to remember that you made some coffee earlier and left it on the kitchen counter.
