If only there were a way to narrow them down — say, to 50 great ones in coveted locales across the world.

The World's 50 Best Hotels just released its new list for 2024, and it's sporting some seriously fine places to rest your head. 

Capella Bangkok takes the top spot, climbing 10 places from its prior year ranking. It opened in 2020, is surrounded by lush gardens, and finds that sweet spot between grand elegance and boutique-y intimacy. It's followed by Passalacqua, which is set in an 18th-century villa beside Italy's Lake Como. Rounding out the top five are Rosewood Hong Kong, Cheval Blanc in Paris and The Upper House in Hong Kong.

Asia leads the way with 19 total hotels, including some fan favorites like Raffles Singapore (no. 6) and Aman Tokyo (no. 7). Europe has 13 hotels on the list, including Claridge's in London (no. 11), the newly opened Raffles London at the OWO (no. 13) and Hôtel de Crillon in Paris (no. 15).

North America has nine hotels on the list, with four in Mexico and four in the U.S.. The stateside properties are The Carlysle in New York, Four Seasons at the Surf Club just outside of Miami Beach, Aman New York, and Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.

You'll also find hotels in Dubai, Tokyo, the Maldives and many places between. So, it may be time to update your bucket list. In the meantime, here's the full list.
