When you think about rooftop pools, Utah probably isn't top of mind.

Skiing, national parks and the country's biggest film festival, sure, but rooftop pools? No.

Well, now you'll have to carve out a little space in your brain for Pendry Park City, the just-opened resort that's bringing ski-in/ski-out access and, yes, a rooftop pool to Park City, Utah.

Located in the heart of Canyons Village at Park City Mountain, the new hotel is the sixth addition to the Pendry Hotels & Resorts portfolio (San Diego, West Hollywood, Chicago), and the company's first location in the mountains. This particular mountain is one of the largest in the country, with more than 7,300 acres of skiable terrain. But you'll also be well situated for non-skiing activities year-round, whether you're debuting a film at Sundance or taking a stroll through town during summer.

The property's 153 rooms range from standard guest rooms to spacious suites and a one-bedroom penthouse with a large terrace. There are also several residences, available in one-to-four-bed configurations and with full kitchens, in case you want to stick around for awhile. The lobby is anchored by a massive two-sided fireplace, perfect for warming up after a day outside. And upstairs you'll find that rooftop pool and lounge.

When the time comes to eat and drink, you won't lack options. Kita is the resort’s signature restaurant, with sushi, Japanese beef, ramen and robatayaki—the seafood is flown in daily from Japan. Disco Pizza is a lively pizza parlor that pairs classic red sauce favorites with craft cocktails, beers and games (and a disco ball for after-dinner entertainment). Aprés Pendry is a European-inspired lobby lounge offering drinks and shareable comfort food in a cozy slopeside setting. And the Pool House serves an all-day menu of classic American mountain fare alongside picturesque mountain views.

Follow up a long day on the slopes, or hiking, or drinking by the fire, with a treatment at the full-service spa and wellness retreat. The scenic, mountain-inspired setting has six private treatment rooms, where you can indulge in some self-care.
