You said you weren't making plans for Friday.

And they laughed at you.

But now, you're getting a sweet taste of revenge.

Which tastes remarkably like steak frites with a Kir Royale.

All of this is to say that tonight, you're going to Barbette. It's a new French cocktail and dinner destination from Jared Meisler and Sean MacPherson of the Pikey, Jones and Bar Lubitsch fame, now open in West Hollywood looking like this.

Just for fun, we've choreographed your first night here. And it goes a little something like this...

—As the earth around you grows duskier, you'll be here holding the door for a date into this downright gorgeous chamber of significant Parisian allure. Your eyes land on portraits of Picasso and Daft Punk, an ornate tile floor, steel beams, red velvet stools and finally, on the menus at the marble-topped wooden bar.

—After starting with Champagne or the housemade absinthe, you'll share Kir Royales or Dream Well cocktails with scotch, chai, pear brandy, honey, lemon and egg white. "I can really taste the chai," someone may say.

—You've been escorted to an intimate table underneath a vast paneled mirror. Moules mariniere, ouefs nicoise, crab rice and steak frites appear. Because you asked them to.

—At 11pm, the tables disappear and everyone's hanging out. You take the opportunity to bring your company to the open-air back patio. Which is when you lean in and whisper...

"Sorry, could you repeat that?"
