"I could go for some Japanese cheesecake right about now. Maybe some piña colada cotton candy. Don't know yet."

That was you. At MadLab Creamery. Thinking about how you could go for some Japanese cheesecake or maybe some piña colada cotton candy.

It's an all-things-dessert haven in the middle of the Design District's Palm Court, it's open now and this is its delicious slideshow.

Grab a date and head toward the artsy, ice cream cone facade after a neighboring dinner. Or on a Sunday. Anytime, really.

Walking in, you’ll note the multiple shades of pink, the hand-painted ice cream cones on the floor and the ice cream sculptures on top of the shelves. Which will lead you to the realization that there's ice cream here, too. And so many other things, like cookies and chocolate barks. Things from Soraya Kilgore who gave the pastries at Alter their fame.

And while you showed up for that Japanese cheesecake, you may find yourself distracted by the soft-serve in flavors like matcha or chocolate made with Ecuadorian cacao. Or the chocolate pocky sticks. Or the wisps of homespun cotton candy.

But back to the cheesecake. You'll find the soufflé-like delight covered in whipped cream and topped with berries. Have that at one of the outdoor tables.

You know, the cheesecake tables.

On a typical Wednesday, Ginger Harris is likely seeking reposado tequila, squeezing her way to the front of a concert or jumping on the back of an Indian motorcycle. That’s just Wednesdays, though.
