Vino Tinto Is Perfect for Sharing

Your date casually mentioned they could really go for grilled octopus with tangerine cilantro sauce.

Oddly specific, yet completely obtainable now that Vino Tinto is open South of Fifth on Miami Beach. The Spanish tapas restaurant, formerly Izzy's Oyster Bar, sits right next door to the Italian institution La Locanda, and this is what you'll eat, drink and see there.

You'll feel the deep Spanish vibe the minute the two of you step food inside. From the wooden barrels bearing the logo to the royal Spanish shield to Don Quixote's swords and a hand-painted Spanish flag.

As for the wine: that's Spanish, too. And you'll find it at the long marble bar. Or, better yet, have the signature red sangria with smoked cinnamon sticks, fresh orange and yuzu juice brought to you at one of the alfresco tables out front.

As you take in the beautiful summer night, peruse the menu of things flown in directly from Spain. Your date will feed that octopus craving while you eye the parrilla de los reyes with skirt steak, lamb chops, chorizo, pork and chicken pinchos with aioli.

And remember, this is a tapas situation, so make sure to share everything while you charm each other silly into the wee hours of the night.

Though at some point they'll probably have to close.

On a typical Wednesday, Ginger Harris is likely seeking reposado tequila, squeezing her way to the front of a concert or jumping on the back of an Indian motorcycle. That’s just Wednesdays, though.
