Side Quest: Find This New Legend of Zelda Beer

It's Called Tri-Force IPA

You vanquished Jalhalla in the Earth Temple.

And shrank to the size of a Minish.

You even summoned lightning with Urbosa’s Fury to restrain the Calamity Ganon.

You, my friend, totally deserve a beer.

A Legend of Zelda beer, even.

Atlanta’s Second Self Beer Company has one. It’s called Triforce IPA and it combines three hop varieties with three malts for a 6.1% ABV ale with a tropical aroma. If you played the original Zelda on Nintendo, you'll recall that there was no good beer back in 1986.

And though we’re tempted to say the beer is for anyone with a passing nostalgia for Nintendo games past and present, this one is sure to tickle die-hard Zelda-heads with its subtle references to the games’ mythology and a side-quest scavenger hunt offered at the brewery.

This is not the first time Second Shelf has gone geeky and retro with its beers. 2017 saw the release of a Top Gun-inspired Maverick and Gose, as well as a companion beer called MIG Margarita In Gose. A Nintendo-inspired beer didn't feel too far off in the afterglow of Pokemon Go-fever and now one exists that sounds pretty tasty.

The only downside is that TriForce IPA is currently only available on store shelves in Georgia, as well as in the brewery’s own taproom. So while you may be able to trade one of your local beers for a taste, acquiring your own six-pack could end up being harder than uncovering the Toh Yahsa Shrine in the Trial of Thunder.
