Swimming With Sharks at SLS Baha Mar

Poolside Drinks, Rooftop Toasts and Aquatic Wildlife in Nassau

Welcome back to the Bahamas.

It's got all the poolside mojitos and cavernous casinos you may remember.

But now someone has gone and added a pool filled with sharks and a rooftop bar right by the ocean.

That someone is the SLS Baha Mar, a beachside resort now open in Nassau from the rapidly sprouting, LA-originated hotel brand, and the second hotel in the new 1,000-acre Baha Mar property.

Being cold this winter is not mandatory. Not when a bright, airy suite with two balconies and endless ocean views awaits you in the heart of the Bahamas. Along with a spa and six pools. Plus an ocean if that sounds crowded. There's also a pool full of sharks here for you and your vacation date to swim with. And they don't bite. Not even a little.

Then rather than have to make any stressful decisions, Cleo and Katsuya are here, so you know dinner will be good, be it lamb merguez or miso-marinated black cod, respectively. Next you'll probably hit the largest casino on the island for cocktails and some games of chance.

But soon you'll be able to stay here and dance at Bond, weighing in at 10,000 square-feet of nightclub. Or under the ivy-covered pavilion of Skybar.

For the moment, you'll just have to suffice with a blackberry-and-basil Collins at Bungalow, from a lounge chair overlooking the pool.

Nobody said winter would be easy.
