THE EXTRA-HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Nitecap Grew Up So Fast

The best birthdays are the ones where the birthday boy/girl/bar gives you things. In that spirit, Nitecap is celebrating their third with nine solid hours of strong disco vibes, glitter, slushies and some of the other best cocktails this side of anywhere. And have you ever known us to be hyperbolic?

Mar 9, 6pm-3am, Nitecap, 151 Rivington St (between Clinton and Suffolk), 212-466-3361

And You’ll Know Him by His 38-Foot Mural

In the land where the man known as the Notorious B.I.G. made his home, a couple guys decided to create a 38-foot mural of Big Poppa, as he liked to be called. After apparently enjoying the mural-making process, they’ve now put together an entire art show dedicated to one of history’s great wordsmiths, including photos taken just three days before B.I.G.’s death.

Mar 10, 6-9pm; Mar 11, noon-6pm; Mar 12, noon-5pm; The Bishop Gallery, 916 Bedford Ave (between Willoughby and Myrtle), Brooklyn, 917-966-9467

Saturday
It’s From Kiton, and You’ll Like It
THE ITALIAN SUIT SALE

It’s From Kiton, and You’ll Like It

Little-known fact: the Italians have a way with tailored clothing. That being the case, it’d be a positive life choice for you to check out the Kiton sample sale to score a suit that’ll immediately become your signature piece, and maybe a lightweight sweater or three. Only if you want to be frequently described as “impeccable,” though.

Mar 10-12, 9am-6:30pm; Mar 13, 9am-5pm; Kiton sample sale at Soiffer Haskin, 317 W 33rd St (between 8th and 9th), 917-562-2140

Syrup Deserves This
THE PANCAKE’S BEST FRIEND

Syrup Deserves This

Maple tapping season is upon us. You probably knew that, right? Anyway, what that means for M. Wells is that they want you there to experience beaver nuggets, roasted pineapple ham, salad, eggs, smoked salmon, fried donuts and other foods that—twist—all incorporate maple syrup. Also there’ll be music, which we’d love to see maple syrup incorporated into.

Mar 12, 1-5pm, M. Wells, 43-15 Crescent St (between 43rd and 44th), Long Island City, 718-786-9060

Whole Touring Pig in NoHo

For those with more of a porcine bent, the pork experts at Cochon555 are parading a whole roasted suckling pig with many things to go with it and a strict all-you-can-drink beer policy at Saxon + Parole. Bless their hearts for hosting such a thing.

Mar 14, 7pm, $75, Saxon + Parole, 316 Bowery (at Bleecker), 212-254-0350
