Poetic Cocktails and Savory Desserts Near Union Square

A former Degustation chef awaits you at Villanelle, a miraculous-looking new spot for respectable dinner dates deep in NYU Country. You’ll probably encounter some cured scallops with apple and celery, and maybe some sunchokes with crème fraîche and trout roe (pictured), and the drinks have names like Into That Good Night (mezcal, Chartreuse, sherry), which helps keep your Trump conversations literary.

Significantly Elevate Your Shoe Game at Saint Crispin’s

Saint Crispin’s, a Viennese purveyor of top-notch leather footwear, just opened a bespoke salon in Midtown. You’ll call to book a spot. They’ll create a wooden model of your foot, make a mock shoe for your approval, then have you back for a final fitting, just to be sure. They won’t even judge you when you openly weep over the wingtips of your dreams.

Here’s What a Quiet Clubbing Party Is

You arrive and get your headphones. You head to the dance floor, where three DJs are on stage, each doing their own thing. You flip the switch on your headphones, picking the DJ who’s working for you. And even though you might be listening to different songs, you find a groove with someone nearby. You start to wish that the problems of the world could be solved like this. You start to think maybe they could. You keep dancing.

Mar 3, 10pm-3am, $10 ($15 at door), Studio Square, 35-33 36th St (between 35th and 36th), Long Island City, 718-383-1001, tickets here

THE BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL PIZZA

And Now, Bacon, Egg and Cheese Pizzas Near Barclays

Lady’s, the Downtown Brooklyn date spot from a Marea alum, just launched a brunch menu with a strong Italian accent. They mix their Bloody Marys with San Marzano tomatoes and Calabrian chilies, they’ve got a parmesan-loaded pasta carbonara, and they’re making a strong case for the bacon, egg and cheese in pizza form.

Sat-Sun, 11am-2:30pm, Lady’s, 572 Fulton St (between Hudson and Rockwell), Brooklyn, 929-307-2822
