Next weekend, you’ll be screaming at a big screen and dipping chips into things.

This weekend, you’ll be drinking smoked rum while your hair gently billows in the ocean breeze.

Billowing. For today, let’s focus on the billowing.

It comes courtesy of Artisan Beach House, a new dining situation at the Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour that conveniently comes with some chefs from 1500 Degrees and Seagrape. It’s open now, and here’s the visual evidence of that fact.

Don’t fight the feeling that you’ve been here before. You have, back when it was Mister Collins. But now, there’s a lounge, a decidedly vacation-y vibe and some random starfish on the shelves. The Atlantic views aren’t new, but feel free to pretend they are.

Pop in with friends or more-than-friends for one of their daily happy hours, where smoked rum and Cokes and crispy pork belly with housemade kimchi can be had. Have them.

Or if it’s a dinner thing, maybe some wahoo ceviche or braised short ribs followed by a peanut butter donut with roasted banana ice cream would be more appropriate.

Ending on a donut note is rarely inappropriate.

On a typical Wednesday, Ginger Harris is likely seeking reposado tequila, squeezing her way to the front of a concert or jumping on the back of an Indian motorcycle. That’s just Wednesdays, though.
