This Wine Won’t Drink Itself

Drinking wine: it’s pretty fun. Thinking about what wine to drink: not quite so much. Fortunately, Perks is doing the thinking for the both of you, hooking you up with six bottles of a little Spanish gem called the 2014 “Tres Picos” Garnacha. Wine Spectator placed it in their Top 100 Wines of 2016. But it hasn’t let success go to its head.

Let the Chili Wars Begin

The chili cook-off: it’s a tradition as old as chili itself. And on Thursday, you can attend Kimski’s and taste submissions from Sportsman’s Club, Café Marie-Jeanne and several other local establishments. Then you can play chili pong. Which is like beer pong, but with... you know what chili pong is.

Jan 19, 6-9pm, no cover, Kimski, 960 W 31st St, 773-890-0588

Just a Fun Little Dinner Crawl Through the West Loop

The West Loop Winter Safari is a roving dinner party where guests stop at five local restaurants and bars—like Nellcôte, the Betty and Bar Takito—to eat each one’s signature dish before attending an after-party at Saint Lou’s Assembly. So it’s not like other safaris, is our point.

There’s a New Brewery in Town

It’s called On Tour, it’s open now in West Town, and it boasts a barrel-aging room and a modern, 75-seat BYO-food taproom with tufted-leather couches and TVs for football. There are also 12 taps, so you can drink their IPAs, pilsners and sours. Nice to know.
