The NYC-based beachwear line Faherty is opening a pop-up cabin—and it’s going to have the brand’s flannels, Aztec-print ponchos and sherpa-lined blankets, in addition to candles, books and shoes from other brands they like. It’ll also be full of vintage art and taxidermy, on account of being a cabin and all.
The immersive Stones exhibit that’s been over in Europe is making its North American debut in this West Village space. Complete with Mick’s stage costumes, diaries, unreleased audio, a re-creation of their studio and an interactive mixing desk... You know, immersive-Stones-exhibit-type things.
Garfunkel’s is starting this new afternoon tea menu, and they’re offering all these nice single-estate teas from India. Choose by region, type or garden. Ask someone else to choose for you. Order some curry chicken. In this brave new world, you become a tea person.
When the chef from New Peruvian spot Llama Inn cooks in Virginia’s American-bistro-style kitchen, the result will be much beef tenderloin stir-fry, roast lamb with achiote and brown butter/banana cake. And some smart people in attendance to appreciate it.
The reigning king of broth Marco Canora will continue his mission of bringing said liquid to the masses with this new brothy brick-and-mortar opening up in the West Village. Expect fresh herbs growing on walls, customizable beef and chicken varieties, and add-ons like seaweed and bone marrow. In sum: broth.
Remember last year, when the rooftop at the McKittrick Hotel morphed into a cozy mountainside ski chalet with mulled wine, large-format punches and wood-fired pizzas? That’s happening again. And now, they’ve got brunch.
