These flowers were grown on the side of a volcano. Some kind gentlemen hiked up and cut them so I could have a dozen delivered to you fresh in time for Mother’s Day. I mean, volcano flowers. What a world.

Things to do for April 21, 2016
Caviar Pizza, ’90s Drinks and Competitive Stein-Hoisting
Don’t speak, weekend knows just what you’re thinking.
You’re Getting Very Sleepy...
Well, Sleepy Jones is having their first-ever sample sale—and all of their sleepwear, loungewear and maybe-go-to-the-supermarket-wear is up to 70% off. And you want to make sure your maybe-go-to-the-supermarket-wear game is strong.
Strange Cocktails in a Speakeasy-Loft
Grab friends and head to this sexy, soft-lit loft with an unusual bottle of something that could go into a cocktail. Then a bartender who specializes in esoteric ingredients will turn your unusual bottles into unusual drinks. If she uses yours, you’ll all get a gratis tasting. So make it good.
It’s Passover at Fung Tu
Throughout Passover, this Chinese spot on the LES will serve up their version of Passover dishes. Cue the brisket cooked Cantonese-barbecue-style and gnocchi in tomato-herring sauce with crunchy matchstick potatoes. Always good to get the Italians involved in a meal, too.
Break Out the Flannel
Here now: a ’90s alt-rock sing-along night. Yes, it involves Surge soda cocktails. Yes, there will be a photo booth. Yes, there will be a lot of people singing “Champagne Supernova” with music videos and lyrics projected on the big screen. Get your unabashed face on.
Just So Many German Beers
Precisely 500 years ago, the German Beer Purity Law was passed, stating that beer may only contain water, barley and hops. Here’s where you may celebrate that with polka, bratwurst, a beer-stein-hoisting competition and a mass amount of German beer and beer cocktails. Hoist mightily, friend.
What Else Is New
Caviar and Cocktails on the UWS
The second outpost of this caviar lounge just opened on the UWS. Inside: well, caviar, but also champagne, foie gras platters, samples of cold smoked arctic char. It pretty much checks all your caviar lounge boxes.
Underground Flowers, Donuts, Whatever Else
The subway station shopping landscape has been grim for a while. And then these developers put 39 hat, donut, wine, menswear and rotating designer pop-up shops in the Columbus Circle passageway. So, less grim now.
