Things to do for February 24, 2016
Unlimited Beer, Superhero Ramen and Coolio’s Chili
Life is but a weekend.
Coolio Makes a Veggie Chili. For You. Tonight.
We know. It’s been a while since you’ve thought about Coolio, Grammy Award–winning singer of your karaoke go-to, “Gangsta’s Paradise.” But he’ll be in Brooklyn tonight, serving up chili and discussing his newest venture: a cookbook called Cookin’ with Coolio. It was the natural next step.
Ippudo’s Doing Comics-Inspired Ramen
For two days, Ippudo will be using its second-floor ramen bar to serve up ramens using ingredients inspired by the Avengers. Shameless marketing ploy: yes. Really tasty anyway: most likely.
It’s Still Winter. So Here.
So, Bespoken’s celebrating the imminent end of winter with henleys, quilted hoodies, plaid button-ups, crewnecks and blazers at up to 80% off. Hopefully that’s a percentage you approve of.
The Glorious Intersection of Beer and Sausage
You’re going to a tent on Saturday. Stay with us on this. Arrogant Swine is partnering with homebrewers for an unlimited beer-and-sausage extravaganza. Consume as many hand-cranked Thai green curry sausages and local brews as you possibly can. Stopping after a sensible amount is also an option.
The Oscars on the Big Screen
Your couch. Your friend’s couch. The indie theater in Brooklyn with duck confit nachos, lamb ribs and themed cocktails like the And the Winner Is (cognac, prosecco, maraschino liqueur) and the Black Tie Optional (a play on the classic Gibson). One of those is where you should watch the Oscars.
