There are many things to do in Portland, OR.

Stock up on local rhubarb-huckleberry jam.

Search for a signed copy of Fox in Socks at Powell’s.

Sip cold, hoppy refreshments while overlooking a river from the rooftop of a charming new hotel...

Regarding that one, here’s a bright, art-filled, rooftop-having retreat called Hotel Eastlund. It’s open now in, yes, Portland.

You’ll enter through what feels like a modern-art museum, if that museum had a huge orange honeycomb installation and was peppered with printed glass panels, and you could sit on select pieces while sipping wine. (Behold the beauty of this slideshow.)

Right... here’s what else to know.

Where you may rest:
The rooms. Obviously. King-size beds in large suites with sweeping city views.

Where you may eat:
Same roof. Say the word and one of Portland’s best chefs will make things like cornmeal fried oysters and smoked beef brisket appear. (Menu’s right here.)

Where you may also eat:
The café, which does espresso and pastries by day, and wine and tartines at night.

Where you may lounge:
The rooftop patio, overlooking the Willamette River, with one of the 60-plus beers they’ve got for you.

Let’s hear it for the lounging part, eh?
