Would you like some spice-rubbed tequila with all these patios?
Here’s Avenue 31, a breezy new late-summer stunner perched over the West Hollywood skyline with a big bar for Matt Biancaniello to make weird drinks at, now soft-open on Sunset. See it, feel it, touch it.
So... no more Clafoutis. The new owners have scrubbed every last trace away for a bright, open Hamptons lighthouse/London townhouse spawn that’s all white rafters and dangling ship lights and stately armchairs and huge marble bar. The parts that aren’t patio, that is.
You could do the giant sidewalk one up front for all of Sunset to see your charred-shishito-mayo-topped bacon burgers, Vietnamese fried-chicken salads and ibérico boards. Or go low-pro on the slim back patio that overlooks the entire city. Ha, everyone looks like ants.
Just make a point of dropping by the big, hopping marble bar in the middle of this place. It’s where Matt Biancaniello designs all the cocktails and starts popping up starting next week. So that’s where you’ll find your white balsamic Negronis, shiitake rum and spice-rub-infused tequila with red bell pepper.
And that’s it.
