Your Perks: 1) A two-year digital subscription to Playboy and access to all the back issues. So, everything. 2) Boxing gloves signed by Pacquiao and Mayweather. Apparently they have a big fight coming up or something. 3) A whole spring’s worth of button-ups. Bring on the alfresco brunches.
Things to do for March 26, 2015
Whiskey, Sushi and Your New Favorite Shirt
To the victor goes the weekend.
Nice Shirts for Less Than Usual
Say you need a nice shirt. Houston-based Hamilton is a good option. But say you need one at less than 50% of the usual price. In that case, try eBay... because that’s where Hamilton just set up a page peddling a bunch of discounted button-ups. Hey, go where the people are.
If you swing by the Gents Place tonight, you could get a haircut or a shave. But you could also sit on comfortable leather things while enjoying plates of sushi from the Crazy Fish truck and glasses of gratis single malt whiskey. There’s no harm in that.
A Festival of Food and Wine
Head west to the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival, and you’ll find:
—Some barbecue and music at Billy Bob’s.
—Late-night desserts and a tasting of more than 100 wines.
—Burgers, beers and blues along the Trinity River.
So, to recap: food, wine, festival.
On Friday, the Texas Theatre is celebrating the 60th anniversary of Rebel Without a Cause by showing Rebel Without a Cause. Makes sense. So show up, grab a drink from the bar and learn all about the perils of playing chicken.
Eureka Does Brunch Now
Huevos rancheros. Creole benedict. Bloody Marys. There, those are three good reasons to check out Eureka’s new weekend brunch. We have more, but let’s not get greedy.
