Things to do for September 18, 2014
Oreo Pancakes, Smorgasburg and... Pants
Scenes from an Italian weekend.
Smorgasburg. In Central Park. At Night.
It’s Friday. The weather’s crisp. You mosey to Central Park’s SummerStage. You find a bunch of food stands. Looks like Smorgasburg. Oh, it is Smorgasburg. Thirty vendors’ll be there, including Mile End serving a Shabbos dinner of matzo ball soup, brisket and babka. This is why you mosey.
Jazz Brunch with Oreo Pancakes. Oh, Yes.
Oreo pancakes and jazz trios: they go together like... well, whatever you want to put there. They’ve never been together. But hit up the Stanton Social’s new jazz brunch on Saturday and they will be. Genius.
A Little Shopping, a Little Dancing
Things you’ll do at Verboten’s pop-up shop this Sunday:
1. Find some new jeans, maybe a button-down shirt or two from the gents of Cadet or Alter.
2. Have a couple cocktails.
3. Hit the dance floor.
4. Wonder if you should’ve put down your new jeans and shirts before hitting the dance floor.
Stand-Up at the Ace Hotel
What you’ve got here is one of the creators of The Daily Show and other all-around humorous human beings being humorous beneath the Ace Hotel. Then, there’ll be dancing. One of those comedy set/dance parties you’re always hearing about.
What Else Is New
Legendary Steak and Tons of Drinks
The steak: Charlie Palmer’s got a massive new place in Midtown. There’ll be a raw bar
and A5 Kobe beef (read: the best beef).
The drinks: The old Golden Cadillac space (we hardly knew ye) is now home to Boilermaker. They’ll have off-menu curry wings, cocktail pitchers and... boilermakers. Yep.
