Your Perks: 1) A dance party at Haus on August 14, with three hours of endless cocktails. 2) Up to 60% off tickets to Drunk Shakespeare, the funniest play in town. 3) A killer date at Duane Park, with Southern deliciousness and burlesque. What a combo.
Things to do for July 31, 2014
New Brunch, New Wine Bars and The Box
Ready or not, here we weekend.
Up to 60% Off Dress Shirts and PJs
Somewhere in this vast universe, there’s a natty pair of pajamas called Psychedelic Afro Shop. And a superb dress shirt called Reverent in the Right. More specifically, they’re both in SoHo, at Seize sur Vingt. And they currently cost way fewer ducats than they’re supposed to. Crazy universe, man.
Two Great Date Plays Right Here
In one corner, you’ve got Miss Lily’s 7A providing jerk at the Tompkins Square Park screening of the
reggae-fueled classic The Harder They Come (naturally).
In the other, M. Wells Steakhouse is doing a secret menu for a series of outdoor concerts and screenings starting Saturday.
It’s... a draw.
The Box Is Back in the Hamptons
—People swallowing fire.
—People wearing no clothing.
All these things happen at The Box. Sometimes all at once. And now said The Box is coming back to the Hamptons for a single night. Just imagine what they’ll do when they’ve only got one night.
Shandies and Huevos in Williamsburg
Meadowsweet’s got this garden growing over its entrance. Now they’ve got brunch, too. So if you put two and two together, you already know your brunch shandies shall have fresh mint and there shall be basilized Pimm’s Cup twists. Plus a mean huevos rancheros, which was maybe less obvious.
What Else Is New
Corkbuzz Winebar and Bar Sardine
If you love Corkbuzz: Red-letter day for you. Their new Chelsea Market location has a
Michelin-starred A Voce vet and... still-abundant wine.
If you loved Chez Sardine: Sorry. It’s now Bar Sardine. Think cocktails and a crispy-potato-topped burger that a Fedora chef’s been waiting to unleash for years.
