Inner Richmond: Where Sails Become Mafia Bags

None
Not that kind of Mafia.

Just thought we’d get that out of the way.

See, this brother and sister who make these bags out of durable, colorful old sails—they’re Argentines, and their last name is Mafia.

And so: Mafia bags, a new way for sails to hold your laptop and picnic blanket or whatever while you tell someone you’re holding a bag made out of a sail, now getting made in the Inner Richmond.

The brother, Marcos—Marcos Mafia, great name—is a windsurfer and pro kitesurfer. Consequently, he ended up with his fair share of sails lying around. And since they apparently don’t accept massive crimson, yellow and forest green sails at most area recycling facilities: hey. Let’s get you a bag.

They’ve got backpacks and totes for your everyday lugging-stuff-around-in-the-summer needs, and plenty of duffel bags that would get pretty existential on a weekend sailboat jaunt. Get ’em online this week, or visit the factory if you want to feel the sail-ness in person before you buy.

Oh, and if you happen to have a sail lying around, they’ll take it. And then they’ll make you a bag out of it, on the house.

And then they’ll make some other bags, not on the house.

Which you probably wouldn’t have gotten around to ever doing.

Probably.
