Things to do for October 03, 2013
Eating Alligators and Getting Rides from Strangers
A fool and his weekend are soon parted.
Eating Alligator on Elm Street
You might know Alligator Café from their long-standing East Dallas spot. Well, now you can also know them from Deep Ellum. Because they just opened on Elm Street. Inside, they’re serving things like fried catfish and gumbo. Oh, and alligator. No false advertising at this place.
Here: Every Lunch Ever
Sometimes you want tacos. Other times, sushi. Most times, beer. So just for you, someone went and created a place stocked full of all three. It’s called Bar None Cafe, and it’s giving you a Downtown lunch option that’s more than just sandwiches. But they do have sandwiches.
Lyft Mustache Car Service
It’s good to have options. Especially when it’s 2am and you desperately need to escape Henderson. So, enter Lyft, a new ride-share service for on-demand chauffeured pickups. In cars with giant pink mustache hood ornaments. Really.
The Good Kind of Garage Sale
Old movie projectors. Old cow skulls. The occasional sword. Sometimes you need these things... from a parking lot behind an antiques store. So you go to a parking lot behind an antiques store. In this case, the garage sale at M’antiques. Which is an antiques store with an “M” in front.
Eating Hot Wings on a Front Porch
Belly & Trumpet. Lovely place. Not exactly an informal Monday night dinner spot, though. Except that, hey, now it is. Because these guys just debuted a more casual menu for Mondays featuring chicken wings, crab beignets and lamb sliders. It’s called the Monday Front Porch Feast. Guess where you’ll be sitting.
