This week, you’re getting 25% off swimsuits, ties and other warm-weather gear from Lake Como’s Mitchumm Industries. (Clooney’d be proud.) Plus: framed letterpress prints of whiskey, pork and other refined essentials from the Southern gents at Bearings, and majestic, hand-painted animal heads from White Faux Taxidermy. Your walls deserve Perks, too.
Things to do for March 21, 2013
Wine. Pants. Dancing. Your Weekend.
What do we want: the weekend. When do we want it: now.
Come for the Wine, Stay for a Shave
Wine, art, straight-razor shaves... all good things. Putting them together in one place: better thing. Just swing by the Gents Place tonight and you can get a trim, taste a little vino and witness some live art courtesy of Richard Nunez. Fingers crossed for balloon animals.
Pipe Down, You’re Going to a Bar
Sometimes you want to dance. Sometimes you want silence. And sometimes you want both. At the same time. Perfect. Because that’s the scene tomorrow night at the Green Elephant. Inside you’ll find DJs, pulsing lights, billowing fog and a headphone-equipped crowd dancing in complete silence. It’s best not to question these things.
A Half Marathon with Rock Bands
There’s a half marathon this weekend. You know the kind. Short shorts. Water stations. Some guy wailing on an electric guitar. Right. About that last part. It’s called the Rock ’n’ Roll race, so go ahead and expect bands along every mile of the course. Bring a lighter/Clif Bar.
Nine Courses of Schnitzel and Schnapps
Turns out, Austrian food is more than just Vienna sausages. See, Oak’s hosting an all-Austria dinner complete with nine courses of glory ranging anywhere from wiener schnitzel to veal goulash to something called kavalierspitz. Oh, and a bunch of schnapps. There’s also going to be a bunch of schnapps.
Shirts. Pants. Snacks. Tuesday.
Spring is here. You may have noticed, what with it being 70 degrees and all. Which reminds us: Piermarini’s hosting a little event on Tuesday to debut their new spring gear. Think lightweight blazers, slim-fitting shorts, gingham button-downs. Oh, and snacks. They’ll have snacks, too. Those are for eating.
