First things first: this is no mere remote-controlled plane for terrorizing stray cats in a field with a few dive bombs à la North by Northwest. No, this is more like the love child of a stealth bomber and a military drone... that has dreams of becoming Ansel Adams.

The setup: you’ll insert the included battery. Then, you’ll take this thing to your chosen fly zone (say, your yard or the mountain summit of your Vermont ski cottage). Snap an available-everywhere GoPro camera onto this, clear it for takeoff and sit back as it automatically captures gorgeous landscape photographs.

And don’t worry about piloting duties. Once you launch, it’ll fly for five minutes 100 meters above you, all on a preprogrammed navigation plan you don’t have to physically control. It even lands on its own.
