You’re going to have to trust us on this one.

Because, well... we’re sending you to an old cash depository building in an alley.

The kind with knife-wielding Italian gentlemen and quick cash transactions.

Stay with us, though.

Because what happens next is chicken. Just... so much magnificent chicken.

Make a run for Gio’s Chicken Amalfitano, a new takeout spot from the Antico guys for hot lemon chicken and homemade ziti of the take-it-home-and-see-Jesus variety, opening tomorrow night in West Midtown.

So, you know how the Antico empire plans on taking over the world/turning that underutilized strip on Hemphill Avenue into a full-on Italian village... well, this is their next step in doing that. A simple pickup spot for Amalfi Coast–inspired chicken. There’s a takeout counter to your left. A few industrial-style lamps and tables to your right. No big deal, really.

Except for all that chicken. That’s a big deal. It’s the kind that’s doused in red wine and piccante peppers. The kind that makes beautiful music with a quart of chicken soup and a cannoli. You can get everything in family-size portions, too. So if you have a family, that’s some really great news.

Oh, and here’s the thing. They open at 5pm and they’ll only prep 100 chickens a night. So, you know, chop-chop.

That means “Don’t be the 101st person” in Italian.
