You’re invited to a once-in-a-lifetime feast: we’re flying out a world-renowned chef for a one-off evening of refined gluttony with eight courses (like truffled foie gras macarons with Pop Rocks). Plus, we’re hooking you up with unlimited beer and mimosas at Brooklyn’s hottest new beer garden and decadent chocolates from Paris’s finest chocolatier.
The weather report this weekend: high 50s to low 60s. So, yes, we can’t really endorse you doing anything indoors. However, if you absolutely must, there’s an art gallery in NoHo that’s basically been transformed into a living Monet painting. Complete with pond, lily pads, flowers and the most impressionist astroturf you’ve ever seen.
No matter which part of the city you’re coming from, the UES is closer than Vietnam. Think about that for a second. Now, think about this for a second: Dragonfly, a new Southeast Asian street food spot, is opening tonight at 83rd. They’ve got Pastrami Pho. Katz’s never saw it coming.
If you’ve even the slightest interest in bacon, biscuits or omelets, you’ve probably heard of Egg. Little brunch stop in Williamsburg. Perpetually packed. Well, the same guys behind that place have just opened Parish Hall. Imagine Egg, but with pork rinds, braised chicken sandwiches and (eventually) dinner service. Apparently, wishes do come true.
Your lunch destination this weekend (and for the next several months): the scenic banks of the East River. That’s because Saturday marks the return of Brooklyn Flea’s Smorgasburg, the 50-plus-food-vendor armada that includes the likes of Porchetta and Red Hook Lobster Pound. Pace yourself.
