This Weekend: Patio Season Is Here
This is the beginning of a beautiful the weekend.
Urban Taco Kicks Off Patio Season
Just this past Tuesday, the heavens aligned and the vernal equinox transpired, which all means one thing: it’s time to drink outside again. Urban Taco is celebrating by hosting an outdoor soiree with gratis tequila cocktails, half-off appetizers (including barbacoa tostadas) and a live mariachi band. Which seems appropriate.
Olivella’s: Part II
Because you can never have too many Neapolitan pizza spots: the new Olivella’s on Mockingbird. Get comfortable outside under their huge arbor with some vino and black truffle pie. Patios and pizza. Done and done.
This Saturday, Truckstop—a gathering of 18 food trucks in Oak Cliff. Your options include Rock and Roll Tacos, the Butcher’s Son and Cup Cakin Machine. As a bonus, Def Star truck will be manning the turntables. Apparently, Radiohead was already booked.
The dapper gents at Billy Reid are launching a pop-up concert series. First up, Fox and the Bird (and their banjo player) will play as you sip whiskey cocktails and feast on fried chicken from Sissy’s Southern Kitchen. Something tells us seersucker is welcome.
Your cocktailing skills: marvelous. But there’s always room for growth. Related: Duo is hosting a cocktail class, taught by a barkeep who poured libations for Oprah’s birthday party. You might not have noticed because you were getting a free car.
