A Spa and Ski Palace in Poland

This concerns bowling.

And skiing, sure. And a water park. And a spa. And Poland.

But let’s be clear: bowling.

Welcome to Bukovina Terma Hotel Spa, a new temple of skiing, spa-ing and The Dude’s favorite sport, now open in the Polish Highlands outside of Kraków.

What you have here is just a run-of-the-mill mountain lodge/water park/bowling alley built by wealthy industrialists. You’ll have 25 diverse peaks at your disposal, some up to a mile and a half above sea level, and all split by jagged ravines and frozen gullies. (Should you require the slopes after dark for some reason, they’ve got plenty of lights, too.)

After carving powder all day, you’ll want to relax. If your idea of relaxation is gliding down the slides of an old-school water park, well... kind of strange, but you can do that here. If you’re more of a spa type, we recommend getting loose with what’s called a Steamy Mary—sweating it out in a 230-degree Finnish sauna, alternated with cooldowns in the crisp mountain air. (So no, not as dirty as it sounds.)

Which brings us to your après-spa options: a vodka-fueled jazz club and a handsomely maintained four-lane bowling alley.

Hey, we’re pretty sure Lebowski’s a Polish name.
