This week, we’re hooking you up with five courses of Japanese-Peruvian tasting menu glory for 36% off. And we also thought you deserved a tin of the caviar of the gods. And just for good measure: 56% off your various bubbly and vino needs. Happy new year...
Things to do for December 29, 2011
Six Gins, Poolside Brunch and Ziplining in the Dark
The weekend resolves to be nicer to Monday.
A Menu Filled Only with Gin and Tonics
You might think the gin and tonic is just... gin, and tonic. Until you come to Bar Pintxo, which has unveiled a new menu of gin and tonics infused with everything from black licorice to grapefruit and thyme. Don’t worry, they still have the tapas menu, too.
If you’re not hosting a 500-strong blowout at your place this year, head to Pourtal wine bar. They’ll have three hours of bottomless bubbly for $20.12 from 9pm to midnight, plus their usual menu of wine and small plates right near the beach. Then take a long walk. You like those.
A Poolside Bottomless Brunch
It’s important to start 2012 off right. Some key concepts to make this happen: brunch, poolside, pancake lasagna, bottomless mimosas. All of which will be available at the Roof on Wilshire for a special New Year’s Day brunch. We predict a big year for rooftop poolside pancakes.
Ziplining Under the Cover of Night
One of your major 2012 resolutions: upping your nocturnal adventure quotient by 30%. Start at Catalina, where you can now hit their two-hour zipline course after dark, making everything feel both higher and faster. Bonus: no awkward harness tans.
Spiked Tea from a Trolley
High tea: a hugely important ritual in your day. Okay, maybe not. But now it might be. The beachside Casa del Mar now has a trolley serving spiked-tea cocktails like the Black Peony, with Darjeeling black tea and bourbon. This isn’t your father’s Black Peony.
