Take a Hike

Rafting, Gambling and Choppers Out West

You’ve been meaning to do more communing with nature.

The majestic canyons. The hauntingly peaceful desert landscapes. The floating full-service spa pagodas.

Which reminds us, we heard about a trip you might like.

Take a deep breath and prepare yourself for Canyons and Cowboys, a multistate gambling cowboy fisherman’s hike through the American Southwest, booking reservations now.

So yeah: there’s a lot going on here. Specifically, you’ll be starting out with a few nights at the Wynn in Vegas, where you’ll do Vegas-like things that will stay in Vegas. Mostly because the lights and existential haze of the Strip will be a distant memory when you’re rafting through the Grand Canyon the next day and floating in a pool built into a cliff face in the Utah desert the next. And helicopter tours: naturally.

It doesn’t stop. From there it’s back to Arizona for a mountainous desert hike with an expert guide who’ll teach you about “healing properties” of the native plants (the title of Lizard King has gone unclaimed for too long). Finally, you’ll settle at a ranch where you’ll horseback ride through passes and have a chef barbecue you a steak under the stars.

Searching for Curly’s gold is optional.
