It’s not delivery. It’s... fresh Maine lobster, soaked in lemon herbed butter, baked on artisanal flatbread—and we’re airmailing it to you. Plus, we’d like to keep you warm on a cool, breezy night by wrapping you in the softest, lightest Christopher Fischer Cashmere—for 40% off. Lobster bib optional.
Things to do for May 19, 2011
Burlesque, Gratis Cocktails and Third Eye Blind
The weekend is dropping 49 points on KD tonight.
Tonight: the One Man Dallas competition will crown one gent as the most upstanding man in Big D at the Dallas Contemporary. And after your acceptance speech, you’ll adjourn to Gables Park 17 for a rooftop party with pints, champagne and a DJ.
Teddy’s Room Turns One
You know Teddy’s Room: the house band, girls dancing on top of the bar... pictures of President Roosevelt. Well, in honor of its one-year, you’ll be sipping gratis vodka cocktails and champagne before someone named Miss Dakota takes to the burlesque stage at midnight. Don’t forget your present.
Okay, we know: Addison. But hear us out. Come Saturday, Addison Circle will have tents, beer stands and wine-tasting booths for 60 restaurants from Manny’s to Snuffer’s. Also, Third Eye Blind’s playing on the main stage. It’s been a while since you heard “Jumper.”
This Saturday. First, watch Rebel Without a Cause. Second, get to Lakewood Theater, where outside there’ll be a vintage hot rod show. Oh, and inside: a ’50s-inspired fashion show including a burlesque performance with over 20 performers. Because 20 just isn’t enough.
Burgers and 100 Brewers in Bishop Arts
For the noble cause of science, you’re always willing to be a guinea pig. In particular: beer science. This weekend, in the middle of Bishop Avenue, over 100 home brewers will be pouring their homemade pints. Oh, and there’s a burger cook-off, too. You did minor in burger science.
