This week, Perks brings you the summery styles of Gargyle, along with a bevy of new reservations from TableXchange, including Nobu and Ago, so you'll have somewhere to wear your new lightweight duds.
Things to do for May 08, 2008
The Weekend Starts Here
The weekend is perilously close to forgetting about Mother's Day.
FiDi mainstay Ulysses' is hosting a day of mollusk mania, with shucking, frying and stewing all on the itinerary. Also, possibly some heavy drinking.
The village speakeasy just got a little easier, with a deep-fried mayo hot dog, courtesy of WD-50s culinary mad scientest Wylie Dufresne, and a cocktail list with gems like The Rose, a mix from 1930s France with raspberry jam to set off the vermouth. Now if they could just find the Peanut Butter Schnapps...
Bacon and Summer Beer Week (brilliant, we know) kicks off with this bacon tasting in the back room of East Village hangout Jimmy's, with choice strips from artisinal farms like Benton's of Tennessee and Flying Pigs Farm.
