Bacon Cocktails and Adults-Only Hot Tubs in Vail

It’ll be here before you know it.

And sure, you can dismiss it as a greeting-card holiday, but sooner or later you’re going to have to buckle down, reckon with the way things are and just make plans already.

We of course refer to President’s Day. And the glorious three-day weekend it entails.

Which brings us to The Sebastian, a mountainside retreat in Vail for whatever slaloming and cocktailing your three-day weekends require, open now.

Your first stop: Frost, a bar bedecked with glass-leaf chandeliers and icicle sculptures. It’s kind of like drinking in a yeti lair, if only a yeti happened to serve Bacon Bloody Marys.

Come morning, you’ll want to consult the place’s ski valet service (located at a slopeside camp), where you can fortify yourself with hot chocolate or cookies before heading up the mountain. (They’ll be waiting to give you a foot massage upon your return.)

We recommend an après-ski soak on the terrace, which is decked out with crackling fire pits. And if you play your cards right—and manage to meet an adventurous snow bunny or two on the mountain—you’ll find yourself in one of the “adults-only” hot tubs near the pool.

Lincoln would’ve wanted it this way.
