A New Resort in Park City

Ski season’s here, and so far, so good.

The new alpine planks: broken in. Your après-ski sweater: dry-cleaned. Your heli-ski dismount: perfected.

Only one problem—you don’t have anywhere to challenge Vera Farmiga to a round of English darts.

Introducing Montage Deer Valley, a sprawling alpine lodge nestled in the heart of Park City, just a stone’s throw from Sundance’s Main Street, now open for the 2010-2011 season.

You’ll camp out in one of the resort’s 200 rooms—we like the Empire Suite, which has a private balcony overlooking Wasatch Valley, a personal ski valet and attached chef’s quarters for... well, the chef. You’ll also have ski-in, ski-out access to 2,000 acres of Deer Valley powder, meaning four high-speed lifts with access to six mountains and over 100 runs.

So after a long day of navigating steep chutes, you’ll cozy up to the Vista Lounge, an après terrace serving up that winter favorite, boozy cocoa. Then, you’ll head over to Daly’s Pub for vintage arcade games (think Ms. Pac-Man), some darts and a few frames on the four-lane bowling alley.

The place is filling up quickly for Sundance, but since their ski-in Apex restaurant is hosting the opening dinner, you might just bump into a rebounding Scar-Jo.

We hear she’s really into Ms. Pac-Man.
