Naked Women Reading and a Jersey Shore Party
The weekend finally saw Avatar.
Gordon's has gone to the dark side—literally. They're hosting a black beer tasting Friday night, which means for three hours you can sample dark drafts like Port Brewing's rare Older Viscosity, barbecue apps and even some vintage Belgian brews pulled straight from the beer manager's personal cellar. Jersey Shore may be the end of America, but the outlandish behavior and appearance of its cast leaves ample room for parody. To that end, Bleacher Bar is throwing a full-tilt Jersey Shore party Friday, complete with prizes for the best Pauly D and Snooki costumes and a JS-style dance-off. Fist pumping mandatory.
If work has sidetracked you from any recreational reading lately, the Oberon is offering some intellectual stimulation on Friday with the New England premiere of Naked Girls Reading. There'll be a stage, cocktails, table seating and several beautiful women reading to you from works of prose and poetry. The answer to the illiteracy problem is here.
200 Beers for You
When it's this cold out, weekends should be spent either on the slopes, or inside. And if you head to the Park Plaza Castle on Saturday, inside will be a large room filled with 60 brewers and more than 200 different beers for the final day of one of the biggest seasonal beer summits in Boston. (The slopes will still be there next week.)
Ensuring you don't suffer the rest of the winter with the same ol' threads, Uniform is placing all fall and winter items on sale, which means you can land everything from hoodies and flannels to all Spiewak vests, jackets and outerwear for 25% off. Because spring may be two months away, but it's still very winter.
