It's been a long week and there's still one more day to go, so treat yourself to several rounds of top-notch tapas, all priced at a mere half-dollar tonight at Masa. If you've still got energy after all the Jalapeno Corn Fritters and Pork Empanadas, you can burn it off with free salsa lessons at 10:30pm, or just more empanadas.
Things to do for November 19, 2009
50-Cent Tapas, Ski Jackets and a Fedora Movement
The weekend is going for it.
Instead of popping in Aspen Extreme for the zillionth time while prepping for ski season this year, head to the House of Blues Friday for Re:Session, a crazy new HD ski and snowboard documentary making its only Boston stop. Plus, there are free Mt. Snow tickets for the first 500 in, making your ski itch even itchier.
Lose the Sox hat and don your favorite Johnny Depp-inspired fedora for Saturday's inaugural Boston Hat Revolution meet up. The party starts with drinks at 7pm at 29 Newbury, moves over to Clink at 9pm, and who knows where the head-covered fun will end. (Note: please, no visors.)
Clio's weeklong tribute to Prohibition mixologist William Boothby ends on Sunday, meaning it's your last chance for era-correct drinks in honor of the original author of The American Bartender (it's the barman's Catcher in the Rye). Savor the gratis rock shrimp-tempura bites while you sip bourbon-based Boothby Cocktails and think about all the man did for your freedom.
Sunday's also the last day of the Boston Ski and Snowboard Expo, where you can find blowout deals on everything from skis and snowboards to jackets and lift tickets. Try not to get distracted by the live music, freestyle demos, super-attractive ski company reps or the ski lodge serving Sam Adams.
