It's Thursday. It's been a long week. And what better way to get ready for a fast-approaching Friday than to eat all the salt-cured pork products you can handle. Stop by Sel De La Terre after work tonight for a charcuterie buffet at the downstairs bar, and imbibe the porcine pleasantries.
Things to do for July 23, 2009
Vodka Slushies, Meat Buffets and Gooooaaaal!
The weekend is all weekend.
If you've ever thought, "I could be 100 times the DJ this clown is" while out drinking with friends, you now have a way to prove it. Dbar rolls out its iThursdays, allowing you to bring in your iPod with a playlist already set up, and their DJ will plug it in and spin your tastes for all to hear. Only drawback: now if the selection is lame, it's your fault.
Getting impaled with needles in a hotel isn't just for rock stars anymore. The year-old spa at the Langham Hotel has just added traditional Chinese healing methods cupping and acupuncture to its menu of services, making it the first hotel spa in Boston to offer them. Try it out and let us know what it's like, as we've never really been "needle" people.
Eating slush puppies in the summer brings back warm memories of yesteryear, but these slushies are the kind that make you lose memories after too many. JA Stats throws a Summer Slush Vodka bash Saturday, featuring DJ'd tunes and spiked slushies made with the good stuff: Richie's Italian Ice from Everett.
Two of Europe's best soccer teams square off in Foxboro Sunday as AC Milan (you know, David Beckham's other team) takes on cross-town rival Inter Milan. This is sort of like if there were two NFL teams in Boston, and they decided to play each other in Italy one day. Expect hot tempers, trash talk and a few magic moments from Ronaldinho.
