Razor Sharp

A Rock Club That Cuts Hair

None
One day soon, you will need a haircut.

You'll have to decide how short you want to go with it, what you want to do with those sideburns…and, oh, yeah. If you're ready to rock.

If the answer to that last one is an affirmative, then we suggest you stop by Floyd's 99 Barbershop, a new rock-soaked clip joint in Lincoln Park, sharpening its scissors for a Thursday release.

If Rolling Stone magazine ever opened up a barbershop, it would look like Floyd's 99. As you enter, you'll feel a bit like you've stepped into Cameron Crowe's boyhood bedroom—the music is louder than the typical corner barbershop, and the walls are plastered with posters of everyone from John Lennon and Ozzy to Zeppelin, Sex Pistols and Lynyrd Skynyrd (ironically, a lot of dudes who didn't get their hair cut very often).

No appointment is necessary, just settle into one of the sexy black leather barber chairs and allow a well-schooled scissorist to give you an old-school cleanup, finished off with a straight razor and a hot lather shave.

And if you wander in before June 21, your haircut will be half-price.

You don't even have to tell them you're with the band…
