Six Choice Options for Oscars-Viewing in New York

Themed Drinks, Truffle Popcorn and Competitive Meryl Streep Trivia

Sure, you can stay at home and watch the Oscars in pajamas with a bottle of wine and some microwaved popcorn.

Or you can head out to any one of these six places in New York, where they'll be screening the Awards alongside draws like gold flake-rimmed drinks, Meryl Streep trivia and ballot competitions with desirable prizes.

If that second option sounds appealing, you'll want to read on. It's where we break down who's doing what, where and when, Oscars-wise.

Here goes...

You Require: A LES movie theater where you can watch the exchange of golden statues while enjoying steak tartare and brandy-cider cocktails.
You'll Receive: Either of the theaters (or the lobby area) at Metrograph, where they'll be screening the Awards, holding a ballot competition and giving you the chance to take a photograph with a convincing Award of their own.
411: Metrograph, 7 Ludlow St (between Hester and Canal), 212-660-0312

You Require: The Awards projected on two 36-foot screens with surround sound.
You'll Receive: That, plus complimentary cajun and cheddar popcorn and discounted themed cocktails like the Lady Bird (hibiscus, sherry, Prosecco) and the Call Me By Your Name (chicoree liqueur, brandy, Angostura and Peychaud bitters).
411: The VNYL, 100 3rd Ave (between 12th and 13th), 917-675-7712

You Require: A strong Meryl Streep theme.
You'll Receive: Instagram success story @tasteofstreep will be co-hosting this Oscars bash, which will feature Streep trivia and giveaways. No reservations, so show up early.
411Northern Territory, 12 Franklin St (at Meserole), 347-689-4065

You Require: Killer 360-degree views of the city, a cozy winter lodge vibe and gold-themed cocktails.
You'll Receive: The Cabin in the Sky winter pop-up lodge currently occupying Mr. Purple, which will be holding a viewing party with gratis popcorn and gold flake-rimmed cocktails named after Katharine Hepburn—who, fun fact, still holds the record for the most Awards won in a single category. Four for Best Actress, since you're wondering.
411: Mr. Purple, 180 Orchard St (between Stanton and Houston), 212-237-1790

You Require: Somewhere to test your knowledge with the potential for free drinks. Also, a photo booth. Make it a themed one.
You'll Receive: Syndicated's doing it big for the Oscars. So big, in fact, that the VIP booths and theater tickets are already sold out. But you can still sneak your way in there with a seat in their dining room, where you can watch the show, win prizes and nosh on curry popcorn.
411: Syndicated Bar Theater Kitchen, 40 Bogart St (at Moore), 718-386-3399

You Require: Truffle in your popcorn and the possibility of free steak sometime in the near future.
You'll Receive: This viewing party, where you can sip cocktails like the Crimson Rye, Tonya (*cringe*) which is rye, gin, lillet rose, lemon and molasses bitters, and win a gift card for future stops here if your awards ballot is filled out just so.
411: Ocean Prime, 123 W 52nd St (between 6th and 7th), 212-956-1404
