That area just above McCarren Park has quietly become one of the great New York places to drink and eat. You’ve got Five Leaves. You’ve got Sauvage. More recently you’ve got Pretty Southern.

And now there’s One Bedford, a pointy Greenpoint cocktail spot, restaurant and coffee bar in the old Nights and Weekends spot, from the Nights and Weekends people. It’s open now on nights, weekends and days, too.

We all miss Nights and Weekends (last time we’ll mention it), so there’s a lot to live up to here. What they’re trying is a healthy mix of Latin cocktails, pretty Mediterranean-ish dishes and a pastry-and-coffee nook.
