be stopped. They threaten to take lunch away from us forever, what with their ahi tuna bowls and Japanese
veggies and delicious sauces. We could go extinct.”

Tonight’s plan: dinner and a movie. You’ll start at Yard House, before heading to ArcLight for a screening of Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Afterward, you’ll hear a Q&A between John Hughes’s son and Second City’s head writer. We would’ve said “dinner-and-a-movie-and-a-random-Q&A,” but it would’ve sounded strange.

an all-around ode to mezcal.
Representing France: The Victor Bar (pictured), a new Parisian-inspired cocktail den
featuring a fig-forward cognac drink and three more Old Fashioneds than you’re used to. So... four.
Online dapperness depot Combatant Gentlemen is making an analog appearance at Nordstrom this weekend. Give them a warm Chicago welcome by sipping some gratis whiskey or beer and meeting with a master stylist for a made-to-measure suit. Or by simply giving them a round of applause. Your call.
If you’re not too burned out on St. Patrick by Sunday, we recommend the following: 1) hitting Fremont’s hangover brunch buffet for Doughnut Vault donuts, DIY Bloodys and smoked brisket; 2) heading south to the Duck Inn for an Irish pizza party on their back patio; 3) learning a jig. Just because.
