Your Perks: 1) Blazers, button-ups, ties and other things you’ll use to keep you handsomely warm in winter. 2) A bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée and a couple glasses. Can’t have one without the other. 3) If these watches make you jealous, that’s completely natural.
Things to do for January 06, 2016
Antique Bourbon, Fried-Chicken Pizza and One Great Brunch
Happy New Weekend.
A Spanish Market. Plus Tapas. Neat.
The Spanish Square, in two parts:
Part 1: Tapas. You and a date get all date-y over marinated swordfish bites and stuffed red peppers.
Part 2: The Market. You procure some zesty salchichón, cheese and a bottle of Spanish red, and do the date thing at home instead.
Note the “date” theme.
Fried-Chicken Pizza. Oh, and Cheap Trick.
All of January, you’ll be able to try Piece’s limited-time buffalo fried-chicken pizza, some proceeds of which go to charity. On Thursday, though, you’ll be able to enjoy said pizza, plus a live performance from Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen. Which just feels weirdly right-er.
Swedish Fish and 1930s Bourbon
Six things to know about the Sixth:
1) It’s a cocktail bar.
2) That perfume sprayer sprays flower water.
3) 1930s bourbon is involved.
4) So are duck-fat frites.
5) One tiki drink has a Swedish Fish garnish.
6) There’s a Trix-inspired libation.
There’s a “Trix” and “kids” joke in here somewhere.
Haberdash, We Hardly Knew Thee
Haberdash, that bastion of dapperness, is going out of business. But don’t be sad. Until they close, you’ll find that pretty much everything they have in stock is up to 50% off, including Gitman Bros. flannels, quilted blazers and Red Wing boots. Fine. You can be a little sad.
Avec + Bang Bang Pie = This Brunch
If you like Avec (which you do), and you like Bang Bang Pie (which you also do), then you’ll really like this one-time collaboration brunch between Avec and Bang Bang Pie involving honey butter biscuits, gumbo over grits and spiced cherry pies. It’s science, is all.
